Michel G. Beaudin
Practising in securities and corporate financing, Michel G. Beaudin represents promoters and businesses wishing to raise funds through a listing on a stock exchange. As such, his mandates deal primarily with public offerings. He also advises his clients in order to help them fulfill their continuous disclosure obligations as reporting issuers following the issuance of securities.
Mr. Beaudin was involved in setting up the first capital pool company in Quebec and handled many qualifying transactions of capital pool companies on the TSX Venture Exchange. He represents both issuers and subscribers in private placements with Quebec-based companies. Mr. Beaudin also provides legal opinions to Quebec residents with respect to the acquisition of securities issued outside of the province.
Recognised for his in-depth knowledge of the TSX Venture Exchange and Toronto Stock Exchange policies as well as public offerings of equity and of structured products such as investment trusts, Mr. Beaudin is one of the rare lawyers in Quebec with an expertise in setting up real estate investment trusts (REITs).
- Represented many capital pool companies regarding their listing on the TSX Venture Exchange, as well as their qualifying transaction
- Participated in the setting up of BTB Real Estate Investment Trust in 2006 and has represented them since, particularly with respect to their numerous public offerings and migration on the Toronto Stock Exchange in June 2012
