Virginia K.H. Lam
With over 30 years of experience in business law and real estate transactions, Virginia Lam has built a practice that covers the various facets of a company’s commercial activities. She handles files regarding the sale and purchase of assets or shares, service and distribution contracts, real estate sales and acquisitions, as well as project developments and general contract law issues. She represents both local, national and international clients, acting for small to mid-sized businesses in various industries regarding due diligence reviews, files involving immovable and movable security, and all aspects of negotiating and drafting commercial leases.
With respect to commercial leases, Ms. Lam’s experience covers both single tenant properties and multi-tenant properties such as shopping centres, strip malls, power centers, mixed-use buildings and commercial condominium units in mixed-use condominium properties. Her clientele is composed of real estate investment trusts (REITs), property owners and property management companies, as well as tenants, including national retail store operators and franchisees.
A registered trade-mark agent, Ms. Lam also handles matters relating to the protection and marketing of intellectual property, including intellectual property licensing and management. She represents clients before the Registrar of Trademarks and the courts, as well as in negotiations regarding various intellectual property issues.
